Vertiv Reports Robust Q3 Growth Amid Accelerating AI Infrastructure Demand

Vertiv Holdings Co, a leading provider of critical digital infrastructure, has delivered a strong third-quarter performance for 2026, underscoring the rapid expansion of AI-driven data centre infrastructure. The company reported net sales of $4.313 billion for the quarter ended September 30, marking a 61% increase compared to $2.676 billion in the same period last year. This growth was primarily fueled by a 55% rise in organic sales alongside an approximate 6% contribution from recent acquisitions.
Profitability also surged, with adjusted operating profit climbing 83% to $1.087 billion and an adjusted operating margin expanding 290 basis points to 25.2%. Adjusted diluted earnings per share rose 78% year over year to $2.21, significantly surpassing analyst expectations, which had anticipated around $1.82. On a GAAP basis, diluted earnings per share grew 91% to $1.95.
CEO Giordano Albertazzi described the current environment as the “largest infrastructure buildout” in the industry and noted its accelerating pace. He emphasised that demands on data centre infrastructure are evolving faster than ever, prompting Vertiv to compress product development cycles from years to months. The company is scaling production capacity and enhancing operational productivity to meet the surging demand. Albertazzi highlighted that customers increasingly rely on Vertiv’s infrastructure solutions for their reliability throughout the entire lifecycle.
Reflecting this momentum, Vertiv’s organic orders more than doubled year over year, providing strong visibility for future revenue growth. The company’s geographic sales growth was broad-based: the Americas region experienced a 75% increase, Asia-Pacific rose 50%, and Europe, Middle East and Africa grew 23% on a reported basis.
Cash flow generation remained healthy with operating cash flow reaching $794 million and adjusted free cash flow increasing 50% to $652 million despite higher working capital and capital expenditures. Vertiv maintained a robust liquidity position of $6.2 billion and continues to invest strategically to capture expanding market opportunities. Capital expenditures for the full year 2026 are expected to remain at approximately 4% of revenue, consistent with prior guidance.
In response to the strong demand and operational execution, Vertiv raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to a range of $14.45 billion to $14.85 billion, up $650 million from previous forecasts. The midpoint of this range represents a 38% organic sales growth compared to 2025. Adjusted diluted earnings per share guidance was also increased to between $7.10 and $7.20, with a midpoint of $7.15, reflecting an anticipated 70% increase year over year. Additionally, the company projects adjusted free cash flow of between $2.6 billion and $2.8 billion for the full year.
For the fourth quarter, Vertiv anticipates revenues between $4.313 billion and $4.513 billion, with adjusted diluted earnings per share in the range of $2.22 to $2.28, slightly above consensus estimates. This outlook signals confidence in continuing the strong growth trajectory through the end of the year.
Executive Chairman Dave Cote expressed optimism about the company’s long-term prospects, stating that the ongoing digital transformation presents a substantial runway for growth. He emphasised Vertiv’s commitment to investing in technology and capacity expansion to meet evolving customer needs at scale.
Vertiv’s latest results arrive ahead of upcoming earnings reports from major technology firms, offering a positive indicator of accelerating investment in AI infrastructure. While market conditions remain dynamic and competitive, Vertiv’s performance suggests it is well positioned to capitalise on the increasing demand for critical digital infrastructure globally.
