Apple's Siri AI Can Be Swapped Out for Claude, ChatGPT, Code Shows. The new Siri AI is in beta, Apple said, and users have to opt in through the settings app, though they may have to add their names to the waitlist before getting access. Apple first revealed the Siri AI assistant in June.
However, for more complicated Siri AI queries, Apple has what's called Private Cloud Compute that uses Google Cloud infrastructure with Nvidia and Intel chips. Apple said that some of its Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features that utilize its cloud servers will be subject to daily usage limits, and that expanded limits will "be available for a fee in the future. Apple's new Siri uses large language models to search through a user's local personal data, including texts, emails, and calendar appointments.
Compared to Apple's older versions of Siri, users can reply to the assistant's replies, making the software feel more conversational.

While Siri is clearly front and center in this software update by Apple, I also enjoy many of the other quality-of-life updates. I have really enjoyed using the new Siri, often trying to find new use cases for it — and that’s possibly the biggest win for Apple, given that I, like many people, had given up on Siri before this update. Over two years ago, Apple introduced Apple Intelligence and teased an advanced version of Siri.

Siri AI is available as a beta today for English-only devices, and Apple says support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish is coming in October.
