UFC Fighter Raoni Barcelos Released from Hospital After Scare in Las Vegas

Raoni Barcelos, a well-known UFC bantamweight fighter, was released from the hospital three days after a frightening incident during his fight in Las Vegas on September 26. During the match against Raul Rosas Jr., Barcelos suddenly lost consciousness in the fifth round while grappling against the cage wall. This led the referee to stop the fight and medical staff to carry Barcelos out on a stretcher.
After the fight, Barcelos was taken straight to a Level 1 trauma centre where he had a CT scan and thorough medical checks. The UFC confirmed he was stable, alert, responsive, and able to move fully. UFC President Dana White later shared that Barcelos was conscious and walking while waiting for further test results. White also mentioned that multiple doctors and ambulances were on hand at the event to provide immediate care.
Barcelos’ coach, Davi Ramos, reassured fans by saying the fighter did not suffer a stroke or heart attack. However, the exact cause of his loss of consciousness remains unknown, as medical experts continue to investigate.
The fighter himself posted a photo outside the hospital with his wife and son, saying he was discharged and thankful for the support he received. In a video from his hospital bed, Barcelos expressed optimism, saying he gave his all in the fight and looked forward to coming back stronger.
At 39 years old, Barcelos’ health is now the main focus before any decisions about his fighting future are made. While the UFC and his team continue monitoring his condition, no official word has been given on when or if he will return to the octagon.
