It recharges your iPhone at up to 15-watt charging speed and can also fast-charge the Apple Watch Series 7 or newer (and older Apple Watch models at a slower rate). Everything sits securely in place, and you can even flip your iPhone into landscape orientation to watch a video while it charges or to trigger StandBy mode, a feature Apple added in iOS 17 that turns the iPhone into a clock on your nightstand with weather information when you put it in landscape orientation on a wireless charger. (The screen dims if you have an iPhone with an always-on display; if not, you can tap the screen to see the time. ) The braided USB-C cable is permanently attached.
Apple is now rolling out its iOS 27 update to compatible devices today, alongside the watchOS 27, iPadOS 27, and visionOS 27 updates.

Siri AI is available as a beta today for English-only devices, and Apple says support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish is coming in October. Apple Vision Pro users are also getting the Siri AI overhaul today as part of visionOS 27, as well as the ability to preview notifications by using your eyes, UI updates to the Control Center, improvements to Wi-Fi connectivity, and support for using the panoramas you’ve photographed as immersive scenes and environments.

I have really enjoyed using the new Siri, often trying to find new use cases for it — and that’s possibly the biggest win for Apple, given that I, like many people, had given up on Siri before this update. Over two years ago, Apple introduced Apple Intelligence and teased an advanced version of Siri. But with iOS 27, I find myself using Siri more often, even though I don’t live in Apple’s Messages and Mail apps. iOS 27 is rolling out to all users with iPhone 11 or later and iPhone SE (second gen) or later.

The phone and Apple Watch pads can also pop up to use StandBy or Nightstand mode on your devices, though, if you want.
